There are three RF/RF-S lenses coming from Canon on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Two of them you already knew about, the RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM and the RF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM.
The third lens coming is a lens people have requested since this web site began 15+ years ago, and that’s an RF 24-105mm f/2.8L IS USM Z. We first reported on this lens way back in March of this year and kind of dismissed it, but here we are.
The Camera Insider has posted an image of the lens in all of its potato glory, but it should give you an idea about the lens. We can see a tripod collar is likely included in the box.
We have no idea what the “Z” means in the name, but we’ll find out soon.
It looks like the “Z” is for Power Zoom. Canon in the past has used the “PZ” abbreviation for such a feature.
